About Us

Founded in 1897, Abergavenny Hockey Club is one of the oldest hockey clubs in Wales, with a proud history of competitive play and a strong community spirit. We are passionate about the sport and pride ourselves on our friendly, welcoming atmosphere – offering opportunities for players of all abilities to get involved.

We run a busy programme of hockey for both men’s and ladies senior teams, with weekly training sessions and competitive league and cup matches throughout the season. In addition to outdoor hockey, we also offer indoor hockey, local friendlies, charity matches, and social summer games to keep players engaged all year round.

Our thriving juniors section caters to young players from Under 8’s through to U16’s, supported by a dedicated team of volunteers and coaches who help develop skills, teamwork, and a love for the game.

All training sessions take place at the hockey pitch at Crickhowell High School, with senior matches currently being held at Chepstow while Abergavenny Leisure Centre undergoes redevelopment.
